RESULTS: Pre-trial Diversion was obtained.

This was for our client who was charged with False Report to a Police Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor carrying up to 1 year in county jail & up to a $4,000 fine.

She had never been in trouble before, and had stellar service & work experience.

She simply made this one mistake.

Our criminal defense attorney told the client’s story to the state & secured the opportunity for the client to obtain a case DISMISSAL if she follows a contractual agreement with the state to ensure she doesn’t get a new arrest, maintains sobriety, remains gainfully employed, & generally remains a productive citizen.

This contractual agreement is called Pre-Trial Diversion “PTD” & the program is not automatic entry as the program has strict requirements BUT offers a full DISMISSAL upon completion of the requirements.

The program is a privilege, is not for everyone, & demands quick attention from the attorney because of timelines.

Our client came in scared because this was her first time encountering the police & legal system.

She wanted information, certainty, closure, & a fair result: we delivered her goals by closing the case in 14 days:

  • Reviewing the evidence with her
  • Counseling her on legal options,
  • Obtaining a BETTER result for her than she expected.

Here at Blizzard and Zimmerman, Attorneys, we don’t believe in dilly-dallying around unless delaying an outcome benefits our client.
