P
OST CONVICTION RELIEF | TEXAS AND FEDERAL LAW

How can attorney Brenna Miller help you?

Brenna’s practice focuses on criminal appeals, writs of habeas corpus, and other forms of post-conviction relief for those convicted of Texas state or US Federal crimes. She understands that behind each case is an individual with a personal story and loved ones.

Her goal is to give every client a voice and to ensure that their rights are protected. Brenna is committed to providing clients with the best possible representation and achieving optimal results.

The criminal appeal process is a complex and specialized area of law that requires an attorney with knowledge and experience in this field to assist clients in their search for relief. As a criminal appeal lawyer, Brenna plays a critical role in protecting the rights of individuals who have been convicted of a crime and ensures that their case is thoroughly reviewed by the appellate courts.

Brenna will work with the client to review the trial record, identify legal errors or issues, and draft arguments for the appeal. As part of her work, she also does research and analyzes case law and statutes, and then prepares written briefs and oral arguments to present to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

During the appeal process, Brenna seeks a reduction in the client’s sentence or other relief. Based on investigation and research this can involve seeking to have the conviction overturned or the case remanded back to the original trial court for a new trial.

While a student at Texas A&M Brenna was active as an Associate Editor for the Texas A&M Law ReviewShe also received a National Order of the Scribes Award for Excellence in Legal Writing.

After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Marcia A. Crone at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, where she honed her research and writing skills, which are intrinsic to appellate and post-conviction work.
